We have added an About Joshua Project page, a Frequently Asked Questions page with answers to questions often asked about the project, and a brand new Donations page.

Give Thanks to God!

Last Sunday, on October 20th, 2013, Soli-Deo Indonesian Church conducted our first official church service at Trinity Blvd.  Our first morning service was especially dedicated to the grace of God, to give thanks to Him who has given us the promised land for the building of his church.

The church has been praying for a clear weather.  It was raining a bit on Friday, and some us started to worry that the land might still be wet and muddy on Sunday.

But God truly answered our prayers.  Saturday was clear, and the sun dries up the land.  We cannot possibly ask for a better day.  He has truly answered our prayers.  On that Sunday, we were blessed with a blue azure sky,  basking in the warmth of the sun breaking through a light overcast warming us as cool autumn wind blows on our back.

Everyone gathered together, bringing their own lawn chairs and extras for seating.

Brothers and sisters in Christ greeting each other.

Brother Eddy leads us in worship.

Pastor Timothy giving thanks to the Almighty, for the blessings that has been given.

Listening to the sermon on the Trinity plains.

Our epic youth group, looking as cool as ever.

Praying for a Beautiful Weather This Upcoming Sunday

On October 20, 2013, Soli Deo Indonesian Church will officially hold its first service at the property.

The service will be an open air service, so we are putting our faith on God.

Praying  that He may bless us with a clear day.

So far, things are looking good, although we are not putting that much faith on Texas weather forecast.

And the Sign is Up!

With two used metal fence posts, a post driver, a couple of screws and some elbow grease, and our new sign is up for all to see!

We can still hear the congregation gasped when we showed this picture, followed by a loud cheer and applause.

God is good!

Our New Sign!

Check out what sister Liliana created for Project Joshua.

It's a sign to be put up on the property at Trinity Blvd!  All we need now is two fence posts,  and we officially have a sign.

Thank you sister Liliana, and thank you God for blessing us with so many talents!

That's a Nice Church!

Soli-Deo Church is blessed by many talents.  Dr. Kiki made this very detailed model of a church building and it is now sitting at the front lobby of  Arlington Chinese Bible Church.
It features a lot of nice details, like an actual working barn door.
Kids would come around and park their toy cars around the building :D

The church has a nice feature on the roof.  Notice the hole where you  can leave your donation.
Yes this miniature church is a piggy bank for the Project Joshua building project.

If you are not in the area, but feel moved by the Spirit, you can still donate! Simply contact brother Okie through his email at okiesetiawan(AT)yahoo.com.

How does God keep helping the Joshua Project

I was using Google earth looking at the property at 13501 Trinity Blvd. The New Church Property. One of the thing to do for the thanksgiving service is parking. The only way to park cars on the property is to jump the curb to enter the area. So we were looking who we should use for cutting the curb.
On my Google earth map I noticed that our neighbor to the west has a flag on the Google earth map.

It says Pavement Service Co. They cut curb, make pavement, parking lots and striping. Our own neighbor. You cannot get anything closer then this. Praise The Lord. So Okie will pay them a visit and ask them how much it will cost for a good neighbor like us :-).

Blessing

Kiki

Our first Thanksgiving Worship on the New Land (13501 Trinity Blvd)

We are planning to have our first worship on this new land maybe in the mid october this year. We will pitch a tent. We encourage people to bring their own folding/lawn chair.
This service will be held at 10:00 or 11:00 am on a Sunday.
This should be neat in an open air worship. Some logistic need to be overcome like Rest rooms, electricity for the mike and keyboard etc.
We will see, we will keep you uptoday as we get closer to the date.
Praise The Lord for His Blessing on Soli-Deo

Kiki
Today our church prayed a corporate prayer.  Among the things we asked for is guidance.  Now that the church has the land, we need to executed our next steps.  We prayed for a successful fundraising effort to raise funds.  And also, we are asking for the Lord's guidance, in terms of locating an Architect, engineers, and a good trustworthy general contractor for the completion of this church building project.

Indonesian Independence Day Bazaar

Th e 17th of August marked the 68th birthday of the Indonesian nation.    Today, the church is celebrating the event by holding a food bazaar.  As the church service comes to an end, fragrant appetizing aroma invades our nostrils.  The ladies has transformed the eating area into a seller's booth, full of traditional Indonesian food  for sale.
Stacks of  bowls with traditional "soto",  a dish hearty meat broth, with rice noodles, shrimp cake and meatballs, and other dishes abound.

The sellers donated a portion of their sale to support the project.  Some of us choose to donate all of the rofit directly to the project.   Like sister Ester's table.
She has handmade crafts and traditional gowns for sale.  And all of her profit goes directly to the new church building.

Praying at the Promised Land

The congregation prayed at the land at 13501 Trinity Blvd today.  Amidst the heat and business of traffic, we are able to find shade near some trees.

At around 10:30  the congregation began singing worship songs.  Among the song sang was "I am Walking to Canaan".

Then, Pastor Timothy did something remarkable.  Perhaps moved by the Spirit, he dedicated this land, as the promised land, and together with the congregation asked the Lord to bless this land for his glory, for the purpose of worship, evangelizing and revival, even though no agreements or documents has been established.

But like what the LORD said in Isaiah:
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

The LORD has seen how all this would play out.  It is his plan.  And we will do things according to His Will.
